Dear Sirs and Madams,

Just as much as you appreciate and value your own personal freedoms, we the oppressed peoples of Burma have the same values, and although we have been denied, for many decades, such freedoms, we seek your help as we struggle to regain this freedom.

In 1962 our country, in its early years of freedom, was hijacked by a military dictatorship that eradicated all civil institutions and embarked on a process that has produced devastating consequences for our country. Its leader, General Ne Win, imposed his own brand of ideology on the nation, where military officials replaced almost all civilian workers in the nation’s administrative institutions. Civil society also came under military control and the country degenerated into a terrifying tyranny.

In 1974, the Burma Socialist Program Party (BSPP) drafted their constitution which enabled the dictatorship to establish a pseudo-civilian government, and General Ne Win transformed himself from a military leader into both the President and the Chairman of the only party in the country. His continued misgovernance of the country, including the demonetarization of the currency, produced dire results for the people, who were systematically impoverished by his reckless mismanagement.

Burma, under Ne Win’s mismanagement, degenerated into abject poverty, and the majority of the population suffered greatly. By 1987, Burma had become one the poorest nations in the world, and was given Least Developed Country status by the United Nations. This degeneration culminated in the mass demonstration of 1988, whereby the people protested for the freedoms so long denied them by the dictatorship. In response to the protests, the BSPP disbanded and Ne Win stepped down as President and Chairman.

However, far from relinquishing power, the military clique reemerged in essentially the same form, with Ne Win’s henchmen and protégés as its leaders. Under the leadership of Saw Maung, the military staged a coup and promised multiparty elections to quell the unrest and mass demonstrations. However, political parties were denied the right to campaign publicly, and had to organize indoors. Nonetheless, when the 1990 elections were held, the National League for Democracy (NLD) won 82% of the vote, winning 383 out of the all seats. Saw Maung acknowledged that the results were fair and genuine, and promised that the military would return to the barracks. This was simply a maneuver on the part of the military, and Saw Maung later states that first there must be a constitution, and the military will not hand over power until it is drafted. The military then proceeded to hand pick their own representatives for a conference to draft the new constitution, and outnumbered the legitimate representatives elected in the 1990 elections, they also demanded that over 20% of the government was to be made up of military personnel. Furthermore, they demanded that the military hold important positions within the government, including Defense, and that the positions of President and Prime Minister had to be approved by the military. This resulted in the NLD, and other elected representatives, boycotting the drafting of the constitution.

There was then over ten years of stalling by State Law and Order Restoration Council (SLORC), and then the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC), the various names the military junta gave itself, and they have conspired to eliminate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, as well as other prominent elected leaders. There have been more than sufficient indicators that strongly suggest that this was ordered from the top military leaders of the junta. Failing to eradicate the movement for democracy, they then hatched a 7-point plan, or so-called “Road Map to Disciplined Democracy” in 2003. This was another blatant maneuver by a regime that was unwilling to relinquish their power. This was simply a rehashing of Ne Win’s 1974 BSPP dictated constitution.

In 2007, student leaders of 1988 asked the military rulers to consider the plight of the people who faced unrealistic increases in fuel costs imposed by the dictatorship. Their response was to arrest the student leaders, who were then given long jail sentences. In the same period, Buddhist monks approached the military leadership and reminded them of their duty to the people – the dictatorship responded with brutal force. The military shot and arrested monks, and entered many monasteries and destroyed them. Many were killed, with estimates suggesting over 300 monk and civilian victims.

In May, 2008, although foreign meteorological centers warned the military of an impending high force cyclone, the SPDC downplayed the intensity predicted by these sources. The devastating result of this deliberate withholding of information was that over 100,000 people were killed, and over a million people lost their homes and livelihood. Amidst this catastrophe, 8 days after the disaster, on the 10th of May, the SPDC held a referendum for its bogus constitution, and claimed a 93% yes vote. Later in the year, political prisoners were given extended jail sentences, and their lawyers were arrested and given long jail sentences from 20-65 years as well. This was in order to silence all possible political opposition by the democratic movement and its leaders.

The military rulers of Burma now plan to implement the 7th Stage of their so-called “Road Map to Disciplined Democracy” – the 2010 general elections. The abovementioned facts and track record of the military show that they are determined to maintain power, at the expense of the wellbeing of the nation. In 1948 Burma had gained independence and was known as the “Rice bowl of Asia”, and its currency had real value. It was known as a fast developing nation”. However, after 1962, Burma’s position rapidly plummeted, and it eventually reached Least Developed Country status, and had one of the worst human rights abuses records in the world. The military leaders of today are in reality clones spawned by Ne Win – they were the coup leaders of 1988, and none of the promises given by them have ever been kept. Their denial of foreign aid after Cyclone Nargis illustrates that they are not, and have never been, concerned about the welfare of the people. This present day attempt to fool the international community into believing that they will adopt a democratic process is merely a facade. It is no more than a carbon copy of the 1974 constitution which was designed to keep the military in power. Thus, the planned so-called return to civil rule will only further enslave the nation, and will extinguish all genuine democratic opposition to their rule.

In this critical year of 2009, we ask delegates of the international community at the United Nations General Assembly’s annual meeting and the European Union not to recognize this bogus and fraudulent election designed by the military. We ask all to join forces and to use the instruments of the United Nations to bring about a genuine change and true democracy for the people of Burma. Funding Death and Tyranny

No incident spells out Than Shwe’s greed better than Cyclone Nargis. Though it is becoming popular to say sanctions have not worked in Burmese politics one must realize sanctions have not been fully implemented.
With a host of major corporations contributing massive amounts of money to the criminal regime in spite of sanctions, it is clear sanctions were not given an opportunity to work. Much of the aid donated for Cyclone Nargis was sold into the black market like so much other aid the country received over the years. That is common knowledge and it is surprising so many people who’ve traveled into Burma never made that connection.
Insiders within Burma repeatedly said that people who voted against the Constitutional Referendum or were pro democracy received no aid at all in spite of world relief efforts. Religious persecution was rampant in the aftermath as well as the continual killing of the Karen and other tribal people.
Than Shwe’s continued crimes against humanity has gone unabated even during the cyclone. People who volunteered to bury the dead were arrested and tortured as bodies were left to rot in waterways, trees and every where else. Tribal people were left to fend for themselves while he sold food stuffs and building supplies on the black market. It was also reveled that outside observers were taken to photo-ops and strategically placed relief efforts to “show” how much Than Shwe cared for his people. It was all a sham since he failed to show the observers the actual suffering that was caused by not only Cyclone Nargis but from his ambivalence and murderous death squads.
The cyclone yielded Than Shwe an abundance of orphaned children to use as slaves and child soldiers. The bounty that was given to Burma from a concerned world was used to complete his jungle capital (Naypyidaw) as well as his cyber city Yadanabon. Weapons and hard cash was also the end product of cyclone aid which went into the pockets of his inner circle. Giving Than Shwe and his criminal regime more aid and money would only fill the coffers of his elaborate money laundering machine and not the people it was intended for. The black market has always been Than Shwe’s choice when it came to aid of any kind and the suffering people continually were left to fend for themselves.
Aid to this criminal regime would have horrific consequences for the civilian population his military is murdering at this juncture. He would spend it on more advanced military equipment so he can resupply his killing machine. Rockets and more land mines would be purchased as well as bullets and more military hardware. Of course his jungle capital and his cyber city would benefit from such a bounty, that is a given. And to think the Burmese people looked to the outside world for help when this criminal mad man decided to ignore the election results. Now the people of Burmafear the outside world will fund their continued systematic demise as the world turns a deaf ear on their cries for democracy. There is no excuse for the stupidity of world leaders and their economic development minions who purported the advantages of an illegal election. Or were they in the deep pockets of Than Shwe all along?

Thailand's Shame

After Hillary Clinton’s visit to Asia it would appear her trip bore fruit. Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva decided to join forces with Than Shwe and Gambari by promote the bogus elections of 2010. Further, the Thai government has decided to take a stance against the pro democracy Karen National Union and their military wing the Karen National Liberation Army. Placing restrictions on the KNU within Thailand as well as ordering their military command to leave the country was a clear change of attitude towards the pro democracy organization. Though Abhisit Vejjajiva appeared to be sympathetic to the plight of the Karen in the beginning he turned out to be another ally of Than Shwe. Just what Thailand needed, another Thaksin Shinawatra.

With revelations of absolute cruelty by Thai captains who’ve murdered Burmese sailors and the total disregard for life of Rohingya refugees, Thailand is taking a turn for the worse. Authorities plan to send Rohingya refugees back to Burma to face certain death or slave labor whence they arrive. And it is only a matter of time before the government turns a deaf ear on the people of Thailand as well since the green light of tyranny was given by the free world. Sending the Rohingya to a fate worse then death was a clear indicator that Thailand has changed its position on freedom and democracy. And it would not be a safe country to visit since it is now on the verge of catastrophic revolt from a myriad of factions. The one time “Prince of Peace” Abhisit Vejjaiva has reveled his true corporate colors and Thailand will suffer dearly from this deception.

The vermin from Denmark and Norway (Ulla Toraes and Erik Solheim) are in good company with Than Shwe, Ibrahim Gambari, Hirofumi Nakasone of Japan and Abhisit Vejjajiva as well as Clinton associate Jose Ramos-Horta, president of East Timor. All these boneheads failed to recognize the fact Burma had a legal election in 1990, course Than Shwe did not like the results. Are all these people so corrupt that they chose to ignore the voice of the Burmese people? Or did Than Shwe use his angle of bribery and secret wealth to those who side with him? I was truly surprised to find Hirofumi Nakasone in this group of morons. He has disgraced Japan there is no question.

The notion that Burma would allow election monitors into the country for the criminally illegal 2010 elections was preposterous. This came about in a cozy conversation between Thailand’s Abhisit Vejjajiva and Than Shwe’s thug Thein Sein. They also opted to have the corrupt United Nations envoy Ibrahim Gambari oversee the elections. This conversation was ludicrous and beyond stupid at best. The United Nations General Assembly already recognized the results of the 1990 elections. And the position of Burma’s National League for Democracy never wavered, “Honor the election results of 1990, free Saw Aung San Suu Kyi and all the political prisoners”

I feel bad for the good people of Thailand, Denmark, Norway, Japan and East Timor fore their nations were disgraced and dishonored. Sadly the US has the greatest cross to bear since it was Hillary who gave her blessings to China and China’s total disregard for human rights. Small wonder Wal-Mart continues to make profits during this economic slump. Slave labor is the advantage China has over other nations. With Hillary Clinton, a former board member of Wal-Mart it is obvious this chain store has become China’s outlet store. Of course that was at the expense of US jobs and sovereignty but that’s another story.

Myanmar urges vigilance after bomb blasts

YANGON (AFP) — Authorities in Myanmar have warned people to be on alert after two small bombs exploded in the commercial hub Yangon, causing minor damage but no injuries, junta-run media reported Thursday.
The explosions hit hours apart Tuesday evening at a Yangon park and bus stop, and police and soldiers immediately sealed off the scene.
"Authorities concerned have reminded the people to provide information to those responsible in time if there is something or someone (suspected) of committing destructive acts," the New Light of Myanmar newspaper said.
The paper said an investigation was ongoing and gave no indication about who might be behind the blasts, but the military regime has in the past blamed similar attacks on ethnic rebel insurgents battling junta rule.
The first explosion blew a hole in a fence and smashed the windscreen of a truck, the paper said, while the bus stop bomb near a busy intersection blew a small crater in the ground and damaged the shelter.
Myanmar was rocked by a series of similar small blasts late last year, with one man killed in Yangon in October and two people killed in a township outside the main city in a video cafe bombing.
Although the junta usually blames armed exile groups or ethnic rebels, it has also pointed the finger at democracy activists.
State-run media in September accused two members of detained democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy (NLD) of bombing pro-government offices in July last year.
The NLD won a landslide victory in 1990 elections, but the junta never allowed it to take office. Aung San Suu Kyi has been under house arrest almost constantly since.
The military has ruled Myanmar since 1962, partly justifying its grip on power by claiming the need to fend off ethnic rebellions which have plagued remote border areas for decades.

Burma Releases Lawyers From Prison After Contempt Conviction

Burma has released two lawyers who were convicted of contempt of court last year and sentenced to four months in prison.

Supreme court lawyers U Aung Thein and U Khin Maung Shein were released Friday after serving their full sentences.

The two lawyers had represented student activists. Burma's High Court sentenced them in November for what was described as a lack of respect for the court.

The Asian Human Rights Commission welcomed their release and expressed hope they will be permitted to continue practicing their profession.

The Hong-Kong-based group quoted U Aung Thein and U Khin Maung Shein as saying they had no chance to defend themselves. The two said their clients withdrew their powers of attorney because they lost faith in the judicial process.

The Asian Human Rights Commission said Burma's contempt-of-court law contains no guidance on how contempt is to be assessed and heard fairly.

တခ်ိဳ႕မိခင္မ်ားသည္ မိမိကေလးမ်ား ျမန္မာလို မေျပာတတ္သည္ကိုပင္ ဂုဏ္ယူေနၾကေသးသည္။ ဘုန္းႀကီးေက်ာင္းတြင္ သူမ်ားအလႉကိုအလကားလာစားရင္း “ကေလးေတြက ဒီမွာႀကီးေတာ့ ျမန္မာလုိမေျပာတတ္ဘူးေလ.. ဟင္း..ဟင္း..ဟင္း.. “ ဟုလူပုံအလယ္ဂုဏ္ေဖာ္ေနၾကေသးသည္။ အလြန္ထူးဆန္းအ့ံၾသဖြယ္ေကာင္းေလစြတကား။ မိမိကိုယ္တိုင္ ျမန္မာစင္စစ္ျဖစ္ပါလွ်က္၊ ျမန္မာျပည္မွာ ေနထုိင္ခဲ့ဘူးပါလွ်က္ မိမိကေလးျမန္မာစကားမတတ္ျခင္းသည္ လူပုံအလယ္ ႄကြား၀ါရေသာ ကိစၥတစ္ခုျဖစ္ပါသလား။ အခ်ိန္ယူ၍ ျမန္မာစကားမသင္ေပးႏုိင္လွ်င္လည္း႐ွိပါေစေတာ့။ သို႔ေသာ္ မ်က္စခ်ီ၍ဂုဏ္ယူ၀မ္းေျမာက္ေနျခင္းကေတာ့ တဆိတ္လြန္လြန္းသည္ဟု ခံစားမိသည္။ ျမန္မာစကားမေျပာတတ္တာကိုပင္ မိဘကိုယ္တုိင္က ဂုဏ္ယူေနလွ်င္ကေလးငယ္ကို ျမန္မာ့အေငြ႕အသက္၊ ျမန္မာ့သဘာ၀ကို ခ်စ္တတ္ဘို႔ဆုိလွ်င္ ပို၍ပင္ေ၀းေပလိမ့္မည္။ ေျပာသူသာ အ႐ူးျဖစ္ေပလိမ့္မည္။

တခါတရံတြင္ ျမန္မာလူမ်ဳိးမ်ား ကိုယ္တိုင္ေျပာေသာ ျမန္မာလူမ်ဳိးမ်ားကို ေလွာင္ေျပာင္သည့္ ဟာသမ်ားလည္း႐ွိေသးသည္။ မိမိၾကားဖူးသည့္ ဟာသတစ္ခုမွာ

“ႏိုင္ငံတကာမွ ခရီးသည္မ်ားစြာ တင္ေဆာင္ပ်ံသန္းလာေသာ ေလယာဥ္တစ္စင္းသည္ စက္ခၽြတ္ယြင္းသျဖင့္ ေလယာဥ္ေပၚ႐ွိအမ်ဳိးသားခရီးသည္ ၁၀ ခန္႔ ခုန္ခ်မွသာ က်န္လူအားလုံး၏အသက္ကို ကယ္တင္ႏိုင္မည္ဟု ေၾကျငာလိုက္သည္တဲ့။ ထိုအခါ ပထမဦးဆုံး ေယာက်ၤားႀကီးတစ္ဦးထလာၿပီး ရဲရဲ၀င့္၀င့္ျဖင့္ “ေဟ့ ဟစ္တလာ” ဟုေအာ္ၿပီး ခုန္ခ်သြားတယ္တဲ့။ ေနာက္တစ္ေယာက္ကလဲ “ေဟ့ ေဂၚဗာေခ်ာ့” ဟုေအာ္ၿပီး ခုန္ခ်ေလ၏တဲ့။ ဒီလုိပဲ မိမိတို႔ ႏုိင္ငံရဲ႕ မိမိဂုဏ္ယူတဲ့ ေခါင္းေဆာင္နာမည္ေတြကို ေအာ္ ေအာ္ၿပီး ခုန္ခ်ၾကသည္ေပါ့ေလ။ ေနာက္ေတာ့ ေတာင္႐ွည္နဲ႔ ေခါင္းေပါင္းနဲ႔ ၀တ္ထားတဲ့ ျမန္မာႀကီးတစ္ေယာက္ ထလာပါေရာတဲ့။ ဒီေနာက္မွာေတာ့ လြန္စြာမွ ေအာင္ျမင္ခံ့ညားေသာအသံျဖင့္ “ေဟ့ ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္ေအာင္ဆန္း” လို႔ ေအာ္ၿပီးေဘးနားက ကုလားကို တြန္းခ်လုိက္ေရာတဲ့။”

Two bombs blast in Myanmar former capital

YANGON, March 3 -- Two bombs blast in different locations in Myanmar's former capital of Yangon Tuesday night without casualties, police said.

The first bomb exploded at the Padonma Park in Myaynigone, Sanchaung township at about 9:30 p.m., while the second one at a bus terminal at Hledan, Kamayut township at about 11 p.m..

The police has immediately sealed the scenes, making thorough check to find out if there are more bombs.

Tight security has also been imposed on the areas nearby.

So far, no one has claimed the responsibility of the incidents.

The bomb blast is the third in Yangon since Sept. 9 last year when a big bus exploded also near Hledan, injuring three passengers with the bus almost destroyed. The second explosion on Sept. 25 at a bus terminal outside the Maha Bandoola Garden and opposite the City Hall in the heart of city injured four people, including three women.

Last month, two bombs went off in Bago division without casualties.

After that incident, the authorities said "Anti-government organizations and terrorist armed groups are sending bombers to commit destructive acts in the nation and the authorities concerned are making arrangements for exposing those terrorists".

Meanwhile, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Senior-General Than Shwe stressed in his message on Monday on the occasion of the Peasants Day the need for peace and stability in the country, while warning of warding off the dangers of internal and external destructive elements.

With the release of about 6,300 prisoners, with only a hand full of political prisoners, it is clear this is yet another tactical ploy by Than Shwe. Last year the Burmese government released about 2,000 prisoners only to secretly refill the prisons with pro democracy advocates, entertainers and anyone who opposed his rule. There is no question this prison release will make more room for more pro democracy and human rights advocates who oppose the illegal 2010 elections.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s failure to address human right’s concerns in favor of profits before humanity was the wrong message to send China and Burma, let alone Tibet. United Nations Human Rights envoy Tom Quintana’s failure to speak with pro democracy groups and eye witnesses to egregious crimes against humanity only exacerbated the plight of human beings who looked with hope and promise to these so called icons of freedom and human eights. How far beyond stupid were these envoys or was it calculated all along?

Humanity has been put aside in favor of economical consequences as the jungles of Burma flowed with human suffering. Did Quintana visit the KNU or visit refugee centers along the border? Did Hillary Clinton visit any ofChina’s slave labor Gulags populated with approximately a 80 millions human beings? Not a chance. Her visit to Indonesia was nothing more than a series of photo-ops and junket dinners since she failed to garner an audience with the leaders of the Muslim community, her primary mission. Throwing a few strategically vague barbs at North Korea was nothing more than impotence personified fore she would not dare upset the goose that laid the golden egg, China.

Truly this reeked of a much darker agenda where the corporate bottom line took precedence over humanity and democracy. Now Than Shwe will advance with his plan to secretly arrest, torture and murder anyone who opposes him and his illegal elections in 2010. With 6,000 plus beds to fill in his prisons the people of Burma had better prepare for another round of kangaroo courts and false imprisonment. The non actions of Clinton and Quintana far over shadowed Ibrahim Gambari’s lackluster performance by far and soon other nations will follow suite as this reprehensible and dishonorable signal gives the green light to other potential dictators.

Human rights organizations around the world were stunned by this turn of events but I saw it coming whence Barack Obama selected Hillary as Secretary of State. Like a fox watching the hen house Hillary will eventually make her way to Africa, another place where she and her husband garner “donations” from third world dictators. Denmark Extorts Burmese Democracy Groups

In a stunning turn of events the Danish government organization, DANIDA, informed pro democracy groups they would cease funding if they did not participate in the illegal elections in 2010 as reported in the *Asian Times.

Denmark, a member of the World Trade Organization, clearly they violated the European Unions ban on high-level visits to Burma as well as show the lack of moral fiber. Denmark’s Development Minister Ulla Toraes andNorway’s Minister of Development Erick Solheim deceived their citizens as well as the world when they traveled to Burma to observe Cyclone Nargis relief efforts.

Toraes and Solheim chose to side with the criminal regime of Burma and use extortion to force pro democracy groups to participate in the elections or loose critically needed funding. The world should be aware of the character of this duo of deception and blackmail for it is not the voices of the countries they represent. Did they also receive bribes from Than Shwe like it is alleged Ibrahim Gambari? Or are they part and parcel in the pockets of international interests who seek to rape Burma of all her natural resources?

With Secretary of Hate Hillary Clinton choosing to address economical concerns rather than human suffering it is obvious human rights has no place in society. Toraes and Solheim should be investigated and their finances reveled to see if they received gratuities and favor from unknown sources. Chances are they are deeply involved with the likes of Swift Financial Group who launders Euro’s through their elaborate financial network for the Military Regime of Burma. They do not represent the good people of Denmark or Norway and should be sanctioned at the very least for their amoral conduct.

How dare these boneheads qualify a criminal regime that uses rape, false imprisonment and death to force their rule on a nation? How dare they insult the fallen hero’s of Burma’s struggle to achieve democracy and human rights? How far beyond stupid are these mental giants to qualify genocide and the continual assault of Karen and other tribal people? There must be more to this act of collusion committed morally bankrupt Toraes and Solheim and it is strongly suggested that journalists around the world probe more deeply into these partners of Than Shwe for their actions are despicable as best. Obviously they both are puppets of international corporatists who place money before humanity and would sell their respective nations for monetary gain. Is Norway next to propose sanctions of democracy? It’s all about the money.

Aung San Suu Kyi and elections winning parties always calling for to take place meaningful time bound dialogue between democratic forces led by Aung San Suu Kyi and military regime led by Senior General Than Shwe in order to overcome current crisis of Burma. This is a must and in order to build national reconciliation, junta must release all the political prisoners and find the solution through dialogue. Current military regime’s unilateral actions of imprisoning political dissidents and suppressing democratic principles are fanning the Burma crisis leading toward total chaos.

Dubai: A construction worker discovered the body of a dead Myanmarese woman in a manhole in Al Nahda, Dubai, on Sunday morning.

The labourer, who was one of many at the scene, discovered the body at around 10am.

The Dubai Police were contacted and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) cordoned off the area. An ambulance later arrived to collect the body.

Eyewitnesses at the scene said the workers who found the body were horrified. Some said the woman was "completely naked".

"I first saw her legs pointing outwards and her head trapped inside. It is horrific & I just can't believe what I saw," one of the workers said.

According to Colonel Khalil Al Mansouri, Director of the CID, the Burmese waitress had been reported missing five days earlier by her roommates and employer, Emirates airline.

"One of her male Indian colleagues, whom she had a relationship with, has been in police custody since the day she was reported missing as it is believed he was the last person to be seen with her. We are still investigating the cause of death," he told Gulf News.

A roommate said the deceased, 30, was "a beautiful, young, petite woman who was kind, loving and friendly - especially to her Myanmarese roommates".

She said they had come to Dubai together in September 2008.

"She told us she befriended a colleague around 15 to 20 days ago and that he proposed to her. I don't know if they were in a relationship. I think she saw him only as a friend," the roommate said.

The woman said she last saw her friend on February 15, while on duty.

Emirates declined to comment, saying it was a police matter.

ျပည္ပတြင္ သြားေရာက္ အလုပ္လုပ္ကုိင္ေနသည့္ စက္မႈ (၁) ၀န္ထမ္းမ်ားအား ခ်က္ျခင္း အေရးယူေဆာင္ရြက္ရန္ႏွင့္ ၄င္းတို႔အား ထုတ္ေပးသည့္ ႏုိင္ငံကူးလက္မွတ္ေန႔စြဲ၊ ၀န္ထမ္းေျပးျဖစ္ရသည့္ ျပစ္ဒဏ္မ်ားကုိ စုံစမ္းေဖာ္ထုတ္၍ ျပည္ထဲေရး၀န္ႀကီးဌာနႏွင့္ ႏုိင္ငံျခားေရး၀န္ႀကီးဌာနတုိ႔ႏွင့္ ညႇိႏိႈင္းၿပီး အျမန္ဆုံး အေရးယူရန္ ၀န္ႀကီးဦးေအာင္ေသာင္းက ၫႊန္ၾကားထားျခင္းျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း ေနျပည္ေတာ္ စက္မႈ (၁) ၀န္ႀကီးဌာန သတင္းရပ္ကြက္က ေျပာသည္။

“စက္မႈ (၁) ၀န္ထမ္းမ်ားကုိ ခံစားခြင့္မယူဘဲ အလုပ္ကေန ႏႈတ္ထြက္ခြင့္မေပးဘူး။ ႏႈတ္ထြက္ခ်င္တယ္ဆုိရင္ ေလ်ာ္ေၾကးေငြ သိန္း (၄၀-၅၀) ထိ ေပးရမယ္ဆုိၿပီး ညစ္ထားတယ္ဗ်ာ။ ေနာက္ ၀န္ႀကီးဦးေအာင္ေသာင္းရဲ႕ တင္းၾကပ္တဲ့ စည္းမ်ဥ္းေတြေၾကာင့္ အင္ဂ်င္နီယာ ဘီအီးဘြဲ႔ရ အရာရွိေတြ ၀န္ထမ္းေျပးအျဖစ္ခံၿပီး အလုပ္ခြင္ကုိ ျပန္မလာတာ ပါဘဲ။ ဒါေၾကာင့္ ဒီေၾကျငာခ်က္ထုတ္ၿပီး ၀န္ႀကီးဦးေအာင္ေသာင္းက ဒုကၡေပးဖို႔ ၾကံစည္တယ္လို႔ပဲ ျမင္ၾကတယ္” ဟု အမည္မေဖာ္လုိသည့္ စက္မႈ (၁) ၀န္ထမ္းတဦးက ေျပာသည္။

အလားတူပင္ မေကြး ေဆးတကၠသုိလ္မွ လက္ေထာက္ကထိကတဦးႏွင့္္ မႏၲေလး ေဆးတကၠသုိလ္မွ သ႐ုပ္ျပဆရာ ဆရာ၀န္ (၇) ဦးတုိ႔အား တာ၀န္မွ စြန္႔ခြာျခင္း၊ ၀န္ထမ္းစည္းမ်ဥ္းေဖာက္ဖ်က္ျခင္း ဆုိသည့္ စြပ္စြဲခ်က္မ်ားျဖင့္ ၀န္ထမ္းအျဖစ္မွ ထုတ္ပယ္လုိက္ေၾကာင္း က်န္းမာေရး၀န္ႀကီးဌာနမွ ၂၀၀၉ ႏွစ္ဆန္းပုိင္းတြင္ အမိန္႔ထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့သည္။

ေခတ္ၿပိဳင္မွ ဖတ္႐ႈခြင့္ရသည့္ အဆုိပါအမိန္႔ကုိ ၂၀၀၈ ခုႏွစ္၊ ႏုိ၀င္ဘာ (၂၆) ရက္ ေန႔စြဲျဖင့္ ထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့ျခင္းျဖစ္ၿပီး က်န္းမာေရး၀န္ႀကီးကုိယ္စား ေဆးသိပၸံပညာဦးစီးဌာန ဒု- ၫႊန္ၾကား ေရးမႉးခ်ဳပ္ ေဒါက္တာသန္းေဇာ္ျမင့္က လက္မွတ္ထုိး ထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။ ၿပီးခဲ့သည့္ ၂၀၀၈ ခုႏွစ္ ၾသဂုတ္္လအတြင္း သိပၸံႏွင့္နည္းပညာ၀န္ႀကီးဌာနက အလုပ္မွ ထြက္ခြာသြားေသာ ပါရဂူဘြဲ႔ရ ဆရာ၊ ဆရာမ (၂၃) ဦးအား ၎တုိ႔ပုိင္ ၀က္ဘ္ဆုိက္မွ ထုတ္ျပန္ကာ ေလ်ာ္ေၾကး ေငြေတာင္းခံခဲ့ေၾကာင္း ေခတ္ၿပိဳင္က ေဖာ္ျပခဲ့သည္။ ေလ်ာ္ေၾကးေငြ ေတာင္းခံမႈတြင္ သက္ဆုိင္ရာဘြဲ႔မ်ားအလုိက္ ျမန္မာေငြ (၅) သိန္းမွ (၃၄) သိန္းအထိ ပါ၀င္သည္။

The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (Burma) can confirm that 19 political prisoners were released from various prisons in Burma yesterday.
On Friday the ruling military regime announced that it would release 6,313 prisoners from 21 February.

Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Member of Parliament from the National League for Democracy party, was released from Myitkyina Prison. He has been in jail since 1991.
