8.8.08 Joint protest organized by Burma Democratic Concern,Zimbabwe vigil and the tibet society in the UK
In front of the Chinese Embassy in London on 8th August 2008, we commemorated the 20th Anniversary of 8.8.88 massacre in Burma as Global Burma Day. More than 500 people turned up and it went very well.
A lot of international media came and we can send the very strong and powerful message to the Chinese government that they must stop supporting military regime in Burma. We were joined by Tibet, Zinbabwe and Sudan democratic activists who are all victims of Chinese government use of VETO, supression and supporting dictators.
There was a black coffin in display to exhibit the lives of lost heroes in the freedom struggle. We also laid flower weaths and flowers as well. Almost all of the people wore black clothing as the sign of sadness. There was a person wearing like the Chinese holding the sign of VETO on the Chines fan at one hand and at the another hand holding three chains attached to three people impersonating as Burmese, Zinbabwe and Sudan dictators.
