Burma Democratic Concern (BDC): UNHCR (Malaysia) must avoid discrimination
Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) today calls for UNHCR (Malaysia) to respect human rights and to avoid discrimination dealing with Burmese refugees from Burma.
Burma is make up of Burmese (Bamar), Kachin, Kayar, Karean, Chin, Mon, Arakan and Shan. Burmese people fled from Burma due to military regime’s extreme repression.
People of Burma voted for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi as their leader and they don’t agree with junta illegitimate rule in Burma. Military regime sees no difference in oppressing people of Burma and always uses ultimate force to crush all the opposition regardless of religion, race or ethnicity.
There are more than 70, 000 Burmese refugees in Malaysia according to the official figures. Since Malaysia is not party to the 1951 Refugee Convention or its Protocol, refugees are vulnerable to detention and deportation.
While we applaud the UNHCR tireless efforts helping refugees but we also have reports that UNHCR office in Malaysia is not fair in dealing with Burmese refugees issues.
Addition, some of the officers at the UNHCR (Malaysia) office is creating climate of discrimination with regard to dealing with Burmese refugees.
Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) is very concerned on the reports that some UNHCR (Malaysia) officers have misunderstood that the ruling Burmese military junta does not suppress ethnic Burmese people in Burma because they are the majority ethnic group and Buddhist.
Based on unreasonable assumption which is totally wrong, most of the Burmese applying for refugees at the UNHCR (Malaysia) offices are mostly turned down.
“I am surprised to learn some UNHCR (Malaysia) officers’ misconception towards refugees from Burma. These vulnerable refugees had suffered enough at the hand of brutal military regime and they don’t deserve the injustice again especially applying for the refugee at the one of the world’s most respected humanitarian organisation, UNHCR. Mr António Guterres should addresses this matter in the matter of urgency unless it would tarnish UNHCR’s long track record of good reputation”, said Myo Thein, the Director at the Burma Democratic Concern (BDC).
Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) calls for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Mr António Guterres to investigate fully and take timely action to avoid further discrimination.

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi prosecutes Than Shwe for failing to honour 1990 election results

JUNGLE BOOT-SLIPPER DEMOCRACY
Mr.Barack Obama
President
U.S.A.
Date; April,26th,2010.
Subject; Sending of my short consulting on Burma's current situation.
Excellence sir;
For it,we would like to consult seriously you about our Burma's current situation that has to face recently the cretical point on Burma's junction towards the victories between Daw Aung Sann Su Kyi's democratic forces and General Than Shwe's military-salaved dynesty and we can talk those compeatations on generations between our national leader-General Aung Sann & military ditactor-general Ne Win.
Our national leader-General Aung Sann had the attension to build up our Burma with the national conference-" NETHURAIN" Conference as the global democratic country with multi-parties system after we got Burma's independence under British-imperialism and we could focus our national leader-Thakhin Aung Sann's idealogy, philosphy & politic on Peaceful democratic united modern development country with global democratic countries because he told our national peoples that Democratilization is the most suitable for our Burma with his faith on the noble truth power but At that moment, Military ditactor-General Ne Win tried to coup General Aung Sann with his faith on the wild gun power and so,General Aung Sann had to act him with marshial laws but Thakhin Than Htun & general Ze Ya requested to free his punishments for our national unity on Burma's independence and then,U Saw with his companions killed our national leaders-General Aung Sann with his commrades on July,19th,1947 and General Ne Win's group participated in it and so,their group burried that history by death sentense on U Saw with his companiopns.Since July,19th,1947,two military generations compeated seriously in Burma's Armies and then in March,28,1948, General Ze Ya with some leaders had to arm struggle because of the wicket oppressing of General Ne Win with U Kyaw Nyein's socialist party and General Ne Win's generation could get the top positions in Burma's armies and then in March,2nd,1962,General Ne Win's generations couped U Nu's Palimentry government and killed over one hundred students by damaging of the building of Univesity Students' Union, gathered & placed by the democratic students,pro-General Aung Sann & Thakhin Ba Hein as All Burma's democratic front on anti-imperialism & facisism and then dis-democratic parties in 1963 and then in March,3nd,1974,General Ne Win with his companions,General Aung Gyi & Tin Pe built up Artificial Myamar socialist state with Burma's socialist programme party on single military party ditactor ship system and forced to get the enriches of all national peoples as the socalled state peoples' ownership system. Before that moment, our Burma's developmental enrichs cuold place infront of Asia but our Burma had to became Less development country(L.D.C) in 1988 by their oppressing, killing & wasting on our national peoples' democratic forces,pro-General Aung Sann's generations for 26-yrs.In 1988,two groups appeared in Burma's armies as General Mg Thint's group, pro-single military party ditactorship system & Priminister-U Mg Mg Kha's group, pro-multi-parties system.
On August,8th,1988,we with Daw Aung Sann Su Kyi & all Burma's democratic forces could move three presidents,General Sann Yu,General Sein Lwin & D,R Mg Mg of Myanmar socialist state under the leading of General Ne Win,chairman for Burma socialist programme party(B.S.P.P) and our attension was to build up the peaceful democratic united modern development country of Burma on Aung Sann's international democratic modern development foundation( Aung Sann's foundation).
But General Saw Mg & Khin Nyunt couped our national peoples' power on Sept,18th,1988 and then permited Artificial multiparties system on marketing economy of military's ownnership system and could persuade some national democratic forces with Artificial election(1990), peace & developments without ethnics' rights on Democratic federal union of Burma and so,they got temporrary intersts of Russia & china and then General Khin Nyunt & Than Shwe moved General Saw Mg for promising on power transfering to NLD and then General Than Shwe & Mg Aye moved General Khin Nyunt agin for promising on all Ethenics' peace & rights & marketing economy and they forced to get all national peoples's captials on Asia Dana Banks, compannies,Insurence compannies & others and then moved their new capital towards " KYATPYA -NEPYITAW" with war strategy & tactic on Neuclear weapons factory & air crafts factory to defend all Burma's democratic forces on global democratic countries and they will build up their military's salaved country with 2008-constitution on 7-steps road map after moving of Daw Aung Sann Su Kyi with all Burma's democratic forces. For it,we got this important news from Insein prison in 1992.
For it,General Than Shwe & Mg Aye told their compannions that they beleive only their armies but not all democratic forces with global democratic countries after moving of General Khin Nyunt's group and marked U.S.A with global democratic countries as enemies on neo-colonism and now, their political wicket process will continnue to act 2010-election with the provides of Russia & China without Daw Su with all Burma's democratic forces and will defend global democratic forces with ASIAN, was frighten by China & Russia and now,China is persuading shamelessly U.S.A,Australia & E.U to support the poor election of Burma Junta Regimes. If U.S.A with global democratic countries supported Junta regimes' poor election, will like to self-hang on neck and so,should avoid absolutely to support their wicket poor election and need to more support Daw Su & all Burma's democratic forces for your democratic globalization.
thanking you in anticipation;
best regard;

JUNGLE BOOT-SLIPPER DEMOCRACY
OF
MYANMAR JUNTA REGIME
On 8/8/88, we moved the military's single party ditactorship system which oppressed, killed & ruled all Burma's national peoples for 26.yrs but myanmar junta regime bloody- couped again us on 9/18/88 and then General Saw Mg & Khin Nyunt continnued to rule us with state law & order resolation council (S.L.O.R.C) instead of Burma junta socialist regimes and gave socalled multi-parties system with military's owned marketing economy and then persuaded us with 90-election after oppressing, killing & arresting-sentencing of Daw Aung Sann Su Kyi & her faithfull politicians.
In 1991,General Than Shwe , Mg Aye & Khin Nyunt moved General Saw Mg for his promise on 90-elected power transfering to Daw Aung Sann Su Kyi's NLD and changed into state peace & developmental council(S.P.D.C) and persuaded all national democratic revolutionary forces with artificial peace on socalled regional developments and then tried to draw the military's salaved constitution with artificial national convention and increased their army form 300000 to 500000 with black money on heroin-kings(Lawsithan,Khumsar, Aiktun & extra) and they inter-group struggled & killed in their military(For examples! Assisnations of General Saw Mg,Tin Oo,Myint Aung,Htun Kyi,Win Myint & extra) and General Than Shwe group-organized his faithful salaves( Kyintphwint & Swam aer shin) and General Mg Aye organized only the military but General Khin Nyunt organized military intelligents & socalled peacefull forces.General Than Shwe faithed for narrow minded nationalism and General Mg Aye liked Russian but General Khin Nyunt more liked china and they always used to compeated on their tri-thoughts.In 2002,their military's owned marketing economy had fallen badly on their biggest income taxes and so, their group-struggles more & more increased between General Mg Aye & Khin Nyunt.General Mg Aye would like to use the hole Burma's developmental system but Khin Nyunt for special regional developmental system, liked china's special economic zones and then, finally! Khin Nyunt had fallen down form General sceretary-1 of S.P.D.C to Socalled priminister.Since at moment,General Than Shwe & Mg Aye forced to get privated enriches(Asia Dana Banks,Other Banks, compannies & factories) and so,foreign investment copannies & Business had to leave badly from Myanmar junta regimes' marketing economy and General Khin Nyunt's socalled peacefull forces had no granty on political economy. Finally!General Than Shwe & Mg Aye moved General Khin Nyunt with his military intelligents & peacefull forces in 2004.
In 2005,General Than Shwe & Mg Aye moved their new capital towards Kyatpyae Naypitaw infront of Pyinmanar, pago yoma, middle Myanmar with Russian neuclear dream & air craft assembly factors on tunnel war affairs strategy & tactics and forced to do 2008-military's salaved constitution on Nagist victims and then prepared 2010-new 25% military commanders election without Daw Su with democratic forces since 2009 and their attension was to win 25% military commanders + their 60% faithfull forces in 2010-new election and so,Daw Su's NLD with democratic forces were moved by the laws of Party's registration & Election and their priminister-General Thein Sein with his cabinet members were changed into civilian uniforms to get 25% military commanders + their 60% faithfull forces in 2010-election and so,they will be sure to get 25%military commanders + their 60% faithfull civilian forces= 85% myanmar junta regime.
Therefore! we shall have to talk myanmar junta regime that they are saling dog's meal hanging of goat's head in the internal & external democratic foces and Jungle boot-slipper democracy too is given by myanmar junta regime and so, really! their guidence democracy will be changes of jungle boot-slipper from only jungle boots on the backs of all Burma's national peoples.
So,we need to move their jungle boots on our national peoples' back by boycotting of their 2010-election on 2008-constitution with Daw Su's NLD & global democratic forces and we shall have to request respectfully global democratic governments to more & more support strongly our Burma's democratic activities and to push strongly myanmar junta regime towards democratic way.
best regard;

Burma junta's 2008 constitution should be declared as Null and Void
Saturday, 30 January 2010
Why we do not accept the 2010 election? What we need to do it?
We do not accept the 2010 election sponsored by the Burmese regime because we have a strong reason to believe that it will not give freedom and liberty to our people including the soldiers who are working under the generals’ command. Everyone knows that 2008 Constitution is far away from democratic norms and principles. Instead of the Constitution below facts will proved that we have the reasonable doubt about the coming election.
1. Potential political leaders and many political prisoners are still in various prisons or detentions.
2. Current political parties have no right to call for party convention, organizational trips, and reopen their offices which have been forced to close down for years.
3. Newspapers and radio stations are totally control and run by the regime, there are no single independent newspapers, radio station or TV station existed in Burma.
4. There is no freedom of speech, assembly, travel, and publication.
5. Still formations of new political parties are pending.
6. Even though the regime made an announced in early 2009 that they will sponsor free and fair election in 2010, still election date and election laws are not announced yet now February is approaching.
7. Still formation of independent student’s Unions, Workers’ Unions, Peasants’ Unions, Monks’ Unions are not allowed to form officially.
8. 1990 election winner political party NLD proposed a sensible path for national reconciliation by starting a dialogue and need to change the 2008 constitution into a democratic constitution which guaranteed the human rights.
9. Civil Society has shrunk under military rule, without strong Civil Society there is no possible way Burmese people can get freedom even the opposition win the election in 2010, it will slip back in the hands of power abusers.
All the nine points need to solve before the election. If the SPDC regime does not have a will to solve it, the election will not be free and fair.
The UN, US and John Hopkin’s Professor Karl D Jackson who recently discussed with the Burmese regime needs to understand that above nine points are crucial for the election if not it will not be a recognizable election at all.
Democratic opposition needs to unite as one force, one voice, and fight for our freedom for one country not for one state or one division. We need to forget about which race we belong to or what bitter experience that we had in the past. We all need to know and understand that we all are oppressed under the military dictatorship, every ethnic race including majority Burmans are living under military boots not only one race or one ethnic group. US President Obama said, “There is no Red States or Blue States, no Republicans or Democrats, we need to think as One”. It is true, we need to think as one not one race against another. We need to see the clear picture that we are fighting the system that oppressed us not one race oppressed another. If we pick one race to blame for our suffering, we cannot unite as one strong force. As a result, we are not strong enough to fight our oppressor. Do you want to fight back and win? Try to see the clear picture. It is time to UNITE!

Aung San Suu Kyi's dictum for the song "On the road to Mandalay"

The following are the scripts of the (Daw) Aung San Suu Kyi’s dictum used for the video, Aung San Suu Kyi (On the road to Mandalay).
Aung San Suu Kyi on “A peaceful settlement”
We do not want revenge, we do not think there is anything particularly honourable or admirable about seeking revenge, we want to find a peaceful settlement …we remain committed to dialogue. It may be difficult to get there, but we’re determined to get that. And we’re absolutely confident that we shall get that.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “Why junta should do the Dialogue”
They (junta) should think of exchange of views and dialogue as an honourable and dignified way of bringing about change. Sometimes I think that this regime thinks that if they accept idea of dialogue with the opposition of negotiations they will be losing face, that this would be a disgraceful road to take. In fact, (it is) not.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “NLD’s stands on a Dialogue”
We (NLD) have done everything we can to try to bring about a dialogue that will help us find solutions to the problems of our country. It is the military regime that is opposed to dialogue. We would like the world to look clearly at what is happening and to see where the inflexibility really lies. The National League for Democracy represents the people of Burma and their desire for a fair, just, democratic government.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “Dialogue”
If they (junta) really want dialogue they would be ready at any time. As long as they don’t want dialogue they will come up with some excuse and this is just one of the many.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “”There has to be a revolution of the spirit”
Without a revolution of the spirit, the forces which produced the iniquities of the old order would continue to be operative, posing a constant threat to the process of reform and regeneration. It is not enough merely to call for freedom, democracy and human rights. There has to be a united determination to persevere in the struggle, to make sacrifices in the name of enduring truths, to resist the corrupting influences of desire, ill will, ignorance and fear.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “Hope for the Best and Prepare for the worst”
“Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.”
Aung San Suu Kyi on “Dream & Hope”
There is a difference between having hope and dreaming. It is not wrong to have hope but you have to work towards achieving that hope. Just sitting down and dreaming will not do. Have one vision and struggle to achieve it. Our vision is that we will have genuine and a full measure of democracy and the full measure of human rights for which we will struggle on. A fantasy world is not what we want and that is not what we are building.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “The results of the 1990 parliamentary elections”
The junta continues to frustrate the will of the people by refusing to honour the results of the 1990 parliamentary elections, which the opposition National League for Democracy (NLD) won by a landslide (obtaining 392 of the 485 parliamentary seats).
Aung San Suu Kyi on “Instability can spread”
Please do not forget that instability in one part of the world could spread very rapidly these days.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “Good governance”
At this time we would like our friends from all over the world to support us firmly. Everything that is done with regard to Burma should be done with a view to helping us to achieve good governance. Good governance means transparency, accountability, and respect for the people. Good governance means democratic government.
Aung San Suu Kyi said “There is no way that we can resolve our economic problems without a political situation”
“In this day and age we cannot isolate any country. We cannot say that we are not going to interfere in the internal affairs of a country because it’s got nothing to do with us. It has something to do with everybody. Those who claim that they will not interfere in the internal affairs of Burma do not hesitate to be involved economically in Burma. As long as they are involved economically, how can they say that they are not interfering in the internal affairs of our country ? If they are prepared to engage economically with our country, then they must also be prepared to do what they can to help us resolve our political problems. There is no way that we can resolve our economic problems without a political situation.”
Aung San Suu Kyi on “People all over the world need to be informed”
“People all over the world need to be alerted to what is happening in Burma…unless they are informed of what is going on it will be difficult for them to voice their support for what we are doing. I think keeping lines of communications open is very, very important.”
Aung San Suu Kyi on “Burma & Peoples of the World”
The case for Burma is not just for one country. It is the case for all those who are suffering under authoritarian regimes. The sufferings of our people are the sufferings of all those whose human dignity is not protected by the law. I hope that in arguing the case for Burma, I shall be arguing the case for all peoples in the world who are suffering from the violation of human rights.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “Right to shape our own destiny”
The people bravely expressed their will in 1990, but still their will has not been recognized. The people of Burma want something very simple. They want the opportunity to be able to shape their own lives. When we fought for independence from the British before 1947, the Burmese people asked for the right to shape their own destiny. Now that we are fighting for democracy, we are asking for the same thing. We are asking for the right to shape our own destiny.
Aung San Suu Kyi On “Younger Generation of BURMA”
I would especially like to see our younger people stride confidently into the future, their richness of spirit soaring to meet all challenges. I would like to be able to say: “This is a nation worthy of all those who loved it and lived and died for it–that we might be proud of our heritage.”
Aung San Suu Kyi on “We are in need of support to speed up democratisation process”
In the name of peace, in the name of human rights and in the name of common decency we would like to call upon all our allies to give us the strongest support at this time when we are in need of support to speed up the process of democratisation.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “We shall achieve democracy”
We are confident that the time is not long before democracy comes to Burma. We are confident that we shall achieve democracy primarily because of the strong desire of the people of Burma for democracy. However, we do not in any way, underestimate the importance of the help of our allies all over the world.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “Global Village”
This military regime understands, like all governments in all countries understand today, that no country can remain separate from the rest of the world.
Aung San Suu Kyi on “Freedom From Fear”
Want and fear go together where there are no human rights and where there is no justice. We would like justice, human rights, and peace to spread all over the world, so that everywhere might live free from fear and from want.
Aung San Suu Kyi’s View on “lives under the military regime”
Want and fear are two of the greatest enemies we have to contend with from day to day. In the country like Burma, where we have been crushed under a military regime for many, many years, want and fear stalk us all the time.
Aung San Suu Kyi On “The Support Of People From All Over The World”
Our movement has been helped greatly by the support of people all over the world who understand our need for basic human rights. We are extremely grateful to those who have given us support. And we are fully confident that with this support we will be able to make Burma the kind of country that will be of benefit to its people and to the rest of the world.

Immediate Release: United Nations must demand junta to do national reconciliation first

26 July 2009
Burma’s elected legitimate leader, Aung San Suu Kyi said on 24 July 2009 that “United Nations should demand the military regime that “2010 election will be lack of credible and un-fair before facilitating to take place the national reconciliation”.
Aung San Suu Kyi and her party the National League for Democracy (NLD), the unanimous victors of the 1990 election, clearly stated their position that need to place in order to have true national reconciliation, i.e.
1. Release of all the political prisoners
2. Review of 2008 Constitution
3. Allow to reopen NLD and ethnic nationalities offices
4. Recognition of the 1990 election result
5. Political dialogue
“These are the fundamental demands requested by legitimate leaders of Burma. If the international community truly wanted to see national reconciliation in Burma, they must find ways to facilitate these demands rather than playing into the junta’s illegal 2010 election,” said Myo Thein, Director at the Burma Democratic Concern (BDC).
If the international community truly wanted to see national reconciliation in Burma, they must take unprecedented actions decisively to the release of Aung San Suu Kyi immediately which is the essential process of implementing to restore justice, peace and human rights in Burma.
“If junta imprison Aung San Suu Kyi or place her under house arrest again, it is tantamount to turning their back on dialogue and ultimately national reconciliation,” added Zin Zin Myo Thant, Campaign Officer at the Burma Democratic Concern (BDC).
The free and democratic world has a moral responsibility to intervene on behalf of humanity. The help of the international community does make a difference.

Myo Thein's Open Letter to President of Russia

Ilinka Str, No 23
103132, Moscow, Russia
28 May 2009
Dear Mr President:
First of all, I would like to thank you for given me the opportunity to write to you. I am Myo Thein, a Burmese living in exile working for democratisation of Burma at the Burma Democratic Concern (BDC).
Aung San Suu Kyi was elected by the citizens of Burma in the 1990 General Election. Ironically that election was conducted by the same generals who suppress Burma today. Aung San Suu Kyi has become icon of the humanities to the people of Burma as well as the world.
Currently, Aung San Suu Kyi is charged and tried in the Insein prison relating to the swimmer incident which could end up at least 5 years imprisonment. This is junta’s cunning act to imprison Aung San Suu Kyi as her 6 years house arrest would be reached on 27 May 2009. Junta wanted to lock Aung San Suu Kyi in jail forever as their rigged 2010 election plan is drawing nearer in which they are setting up everything to win their backed party. Burma is in very critical state.
Junta’s planned 2010 election is designed to legitimised military rule in Burma. To pave the way for their rigged 2010 election plan, junta continue imprisoning democracy activists, plotting the ploy to imprison Aung San Suu Kyi and doing everything they can to nullify 1990 election results.
Please call for United Nations Security Council emergency meeting as soon as possible. Clock is ticking and we have no time to waste as junta will definitely deliver the verdict saying that Aung San Suu Kyi is guilty. Please call on junta to free Aung San Suu Kyi and thousands of political prisoners and demand to do dialogue immediately.
Russia’s role is critical in evolving positive change in Burma since it is a permanent member of United Nations Security Council. We want the Russian Government and its citizens to know that Burmese people have been suffering under a brutal military dictatorship for more than half century. During which thousands of people lost their lives, thousands have been imprisoned and thousands were forced to flee for their lives while seeking refuge around the world.
Our aspirations for democracy by nonviolent means are well documented. Our legitimate leader, Aung San Suu Kyi has been courageously leading the struggle for freedom, liberty, democracy and human rights in Burma.
The People of Burma look to the leaders of Russia in an effort to garner support for a democratic Burma. They also seek healing from years of a ruthless military dictatorship. Russia would ease the suffering as a democratic Burma rises from the ashes of tyranny.
We would be very grateful if you could add your voice for the freedom of Aung San Suu Kyi and to restore justice in Burma.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely yours,

Letter from RANGOON

Letter from RANGOON
by BDC
26 May 2009
Dear XXXXX,
I hope you are not shocked to see my letter. Whenever I send my letters, you might think there is something wrong in Yangon.
There is no cyclone in Yangon this time. There is no gun fire as well. However, as the historic saying, “Is Paris Burning,” there is fire in Yangon, my friend XXXX.
We are walking on the extreme hot weather which cause by the late monsoon. We are swatting. We are suffering from shortness of breath and anxiety. My anger on the speed of internet makes me shake my computer. I can’t sit still at my house. I can’t control my hands from reaching my mobile phone. I can’t sleep at night. There’s something in my mind. Aunty Suu…
Days are very long. These are the longest days for Yangonites for those who are eagerly waiting news for Insein. In their minds, everybody is on the street protesting.
Yesterday, ambassadors and some journalists were invited to attend the trial for the first time. You might have already heard about this. I wanted to share one thing which is thrilling. One of the journalists who attended the trial was my close friend. He told me a lot of things like Daw Suu is healthy and in good shape. She is composed; however, the swimmer, Yettaw, looks panicky. Everybody including prison guards couldn’t put their eyes away from Daw Suu, etc. I will cut short because everything else is in the news. I just want to share one bone chilling moment with you.
Thirty diplomats and 10 journalists were waiting in the court room. Soon after they heard the car approached, Daw Suu entered the court room confidently in her reddish brown dress. All diplomats stood up as she walked in the court room. She went straight to her lawyers without noticing what was happening. Diplomats were standing still until Daw Suu took her seat. They didn’t sit down even though police gestured them to. It took about 10 minutes.
The journalist voice was shaking as he told the event. He was in shock. He said he clearly saw the respect on Daw Suu in the diplomats’ eyes.
One of my friends who was listening with me said, “International community recognize her as our national leader.”
Your Friend,
XXXXX

Than Shwe’s Roadmap Takes Ominous Turn

When Ban Ki-Moon arrives in Burma he might take a trip to *Shan State where Burmese troops raped a 15 year old girl, tortured villagers in Hsi Hseng Township and cut the hands off villager U Lone. There is no question the kangaroo court of Burma will convict Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. The evidence provided was poorly manufactured and the demeaning rhetoric circulated by the The New Light of Myanmar was bogus at best. The court proceedings were the sham of the century. Journalists and diplomats who attended the trial verified the fact Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s verdict was already predetermined. The trial as a whole was an illusion at best.
Burma’s Consul-General Ye Myint Aung added his two cents worth by suggesting John William Yettaw was either a spy or boyfriend of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. This would almost be laughable if it were not for the fact the kangaroo court will undoubtedly convict Daw Aung Suu Kyi with such hearsay and lies. It should be plain as the nose on a person’s face that a brazen crime has been committed before the eyes of the world. There was no speculating for seasoned Burma observers though. It was business as usual as another pesky witness to the junta’s 1990 defeat got silenced. Sadly Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is actually being convicted for being elected by an overwhelming majority of Burma’s population, “The Crime of Winning an Election”. I wonder where it is written in Than Shwe’s constitution?
Small wonder activists throughout Burma are staging a peaceful demonstration on May 30th. Maybe the world will see for them selves how desperate the people of Burma are to be liberated from tyranny and absolute brutality, the signature of Than Shwe’s regime. With security forces being placed strategically around major cities Than Shwe prepares for an offensive against his own people, again. Some people remain fearful with memories still fresh from 2007’s Saffron Revolution and turbulent period that ensued. They stand in contrast to the growing numbers of citizens and organizations wearing white who already gathering in tea shops and designated locations across Burma. The rallying call for peaceful demonstration on May 30th is resonating across the land as word spreads about this grass roots demonstration. The junta has ordered generals to look internally for potentially pro democracy soldiers within their ranks. That would not be hard since the vast majority of the military including the generals would rather see a progressive Burma. Than Shwe’s inner circle is no exception.
Like everything else that happens in life, every dog has his day and one day soon Than Shwe and his minions will have their day in court as well. They will join the ranks of Adolf Hitler’s thugs and the Khmer Rouge who also consulted astrologers and practiced rituals to guarantee their destinies. Than Shwe’s soothsayers did not read the fine print to him when making a deal with the Devil. Nothing is free and there is no question he will pay regardless if he lives or dies. There are many spirits waiting for him to arrive once he crosses over and they are eager to give him he’s just reward, for an eternity.
The latest list of junta spawn evidence includes books, sun glasses and clothing, so far. Burma’s propaganda ministers desperately need just a bit more creativity in evolving evidence and lies against Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. So now John William Yettaw is either Aung San Suu Kyi’s sweetie or a secret agent. A love interest, you got to be kidding. And John is a proverbial “James Bond”, give me a break. We are led to believe John who is asthmatic, diabetic and overweight, grabbed a 5 liter bottle as a floatation device and donned his wonder flippers. Then he grabbed books, clothing, video camera and swam to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s compound with approximately 300 government guards, lights and security fences surrounding the place. The junta could add an ice chest to the items John left at Daw Aung Suu Kyi’s home and the court would accept it as credible evidence. People still remember when the junta brought her husband to her home when she was under house arrest in an effort to make her look, “weak and wanting”. Aung San Suu Kyi sent him away to the chagrin of junta propagandists. We are led to believe a woman who could turn her husband away is going to rush into the arms of Yettaw. Sorry Ye Myint Aung, that is just stupid.
Foreigners are heavily monitored and are only two steps from a government snitch they say. The only thing “clandestine” about this story is how the junta recruited or exploited John William Yettaw in the first place. This brings more credibility to a person who witnessed **John Yettaw step out of a cab, produce a red document to the security at the compound then lead to an undisclosed location. With the court taking orders directly from Naypyidaw no one in their right mind would testify against the military junta anyway. Imprisonment and death would surely await those who dared to speak out. After the trial I would worry about the defense attorneys fore they could face prison time for representing Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. One thing is for certain, Burma is approaching a crossroad. Whether Than Shwe staged this event or not doesn’t really matter anymore. What’s more important is the final outcome since that is yet to be determined.

Demonstration in Burma May 30th

Symbolically May 30 marks the 6 year anniversary of the Depaeyin Massacre when the military junta tired to assassinate Daw Aung Suu Kyi. Fortunately she survived only to be placed under arrest. But for hundreds of her followers their fate was met with bloodshed since they were beaten to death by junta thugs.
Sources within Burma request that in a show of solidarity that everyone wear white and gather at tea shops. Suggested places to gather are Shwedagon Pagoda, Hledan Junction and Insein Prison. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi stands defiant and strong and has urged that the people overcome their fears. Freedom From Fear and a show of support by the people of Burma will show the world that the flame of democracy still burns brightly in the hearts of millions. The people of Burma call for Ban Ki-Moon to personally engage this growing crisis at this juncture. What is happening to Aung San Suu Kyi is a criminal offence and a violation of human rights and it is time for the UN and the world to make a stand on this issue.
The National League for Democracy clearly does not agree with the premise of this sham trial do to its unconstitutionality and blatant criminality. They urge world leaders to demand a public and open trial at the very least.
For the riot police, soldiers and generals within Burma it is time for you to stand by your people and stand for freedom against tyranny and fear. You can’t murder your own people in order to keep the peace when it is the military junta who has declared war on its own citizens. You can’t be a party to crimes against humanity any longer. The junta is moving troops into position as of this writing. The people of Burma ask their soldiers to stand with them instead of against them on this historic day or remembrance and not repeat the travesties Than Shwe perpetrated on his own people.
If a crisis arises from this peaceful demonstration it is urges that the pro democracy leaders inside of Burma assume their leadership roles that has been prescribed to them. The man of steel, U Win Tin, has been at the gates of Insein Prison from the onset in support of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Exercising Freedom From Fear he stands with thousands of other citizens so that Aung San Suu Kyi does not stand alone. Freedom From Fear means freedom from tyranny and repression.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is a victim of a heinous crime and it is being perpetrated before the eyes of the world. With raw courage she defiantly stands up to the junta and it is time for Burma to stand up for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
By request of pro democracy activists it is requested that this message be spread around the world so everyone will be aware that the cause for freedom and democracy is not dead but very much alive. It is time for Ban Ki-Moon, the UN and the world to get involved and demand that Aung San Suu Kyi be released from this criminal detention. It is time to take a stand for the people of Burma and the duly elected leader of this enslaved nation.
