Burma inside November 12

Yangon, November 12 -- In anticipation of the release of the democracy
icon Aung San Suu Kyi, hundreds of members of the Suu Kyi’s National
League for Democracy ( NLD ), her supporters and sympathizers together
with the journalists and diplomats from foreign embassy in Yangon came
together on the University Avenue, where Aung San Suu Kyi’s residence
lies, beginning from this afternoon.

By 5 pm the above crowds have become more than 2500. Some of the
staunch supporters of Suu Kyi came boldly bearing her photograph and
some wearing her T-shirts while two truckloads of police armed with
battle gear circled around in two police trucks nearby.

Similarly about 1000 NLD members including youths and women have
gathered at the NLD head office on Shwe gone dine road.

As the sun started setting at about 6 pm this afternoon, NLD leaders
such as Vice-President U Tin Oo
And CEC member U Win Tin went around these areas and requested their
party members to go back home peacefully and not to chant slogans.

Up to 8 pm this evening, Aung San Suu Kyi ( 66 ) has not yet been
released while most of the crowds that had gathered at the University
Avenue went home hoping that their idol would be released tonight or
tomorrow.
