Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) today welcomes our legitimate leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s release. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi spent 15 of last 22 years under house arrest. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is our legitimate leader and she should be the Prime Minister of Burma in accordance with the 1990 election results in which her party National league for Democracy (NLD) won the landslide victory but junta ignored to honour it.

Today in Burma, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi released from house arrest. As soon as released from house arrest, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi calls for to work together in order to achieve our goal, establishing the democratic Burma.

Myo Thein, the Director of the Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) said that “Daw Aung San Suu Kyi sends the very important message to the junta in Burma that if we truly wanted to see genuine national reconciliation in Burma, we must work together and you cannot go ahead with your unilateral path for the sake of the people”.

“I would like to stress here that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will drive Burma to better future and she will make the decision what to do with sanction or tourism boycott or future of Burma. It is very important that we all should be united standing behind her leadership and practically implementing them,” added Myo Thein.
