Yangon, October 5 -- The 44-year old Thai Prime Minister Yingluck
Shinawatra held nearly one hour talks with Myanmar President Thein
Sein at the President Office in Nay Pyi Taw beginning from 4:30 pm
this afternoon, according to an official, who for understandable
reasons, refused to be identified.

In the talks, which cover such topics as illicit drugs suppression
and promotion of bilateral trade, Thai PM was accompanied by members
of her party including Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul
and Interior Minister, the same official said.

The official also said Thein Sein – Yingluck talks took place in an
atmosphere of friendly relations and good neighbourliness.

After the talks Thai PM and party are scheduled to visit Oak Pa Tha
Than Di Pagoda in the center of Nay Pyi Taw. The visitors will also be
viewing the two white elephants at the special zoo close to the
pagoda.

On arrival in Nay Pyi Taw at 2:30 pm this afternoon by private plane,
Thai PM Yingluck Shinawatra was very welcomed by Myanmar government
authorities.

According to officials in Nay Pyi Taw contacted by @@@ by phone,
President Thein Sein is due to hold dinner in honour of the Thai PM at
the President Residence at 7 pm ( MST ) this evening.

Thai PM and party are due to depart Nay Pyi Taw for Bangkok at 9:15
pm ( MST ) tonight by private plane, ending 7-hour visit to Myanmar.

This is Yingluck’s first visit to Myanmar.
