SOS:AUNG SAN SUU KYI
Urgent Press Release
Aung San Suu Kyi is now charged and tried in the Insein prison relating to the swimmer incident which could end up at least 3 years imprisonment.
“International Community shouldn’t sit tight and just look; they must act and voice for JUSTICE for Aung San Suu Kyi and voice for Burma”, said Myo Thein, Director at the Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) in United Kingdom.
UN and world leaders must demand that Aung San Suu Kyi’s house arrest mustn’t be in any case extended and junta must avoid wrongly charging her relating to swimmer incident.
“I would like to call for Mr Barack Obama, Mr Gordon Brown and Mr Ban Ki-Moon to raise your voice and call for the junta to halt any charges against Aung San Suu Kyi”, added Myo Thein.
This is a ploy. This is junta’s cunning act to imprison Aung San Suu Kyi as her 6 years house arrest would be reached on 27 May 2009. Junta wanted to lock Aung San Suu Kyi in jail forever as their rigged 2010 election plan is drawing nearer in which they are setting up everything to win their backed party.
“I couldn’t believe that three most powerful leaders of the free world are unbelievably silent”. As there is a saying in Burmese, “Silencing is agreeing”, and I become doubtful that “Is there any Justice in the world”, said Khin Maung Win, Director at the Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) in United States.
Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) warned that in advance on 12 May 2009 that junta is plotting the ploy to imprison Aung San Suu Kyi. Now, the most fearful thing which we anticipated has come true.
The question is “How UN, EU, ASEAN, and International Community will take action to stop injustice going on in Burma”, added Kyaw Lin Oo, Director at the Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) in Thailand.
