This short film (10 min.) is a poetic and political essay about the beauty and tragedy of Burma. It is inspired by the book "Freedom From Fear" by Nobel Peace Laureate and Burmese opposition leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who has been under house arrest for 12 of the last 18 years.
The narrator is 81 year old Burmese spiritual leader the Venerable U Kovida, who was once arrested and tortured by the Burmese regime. He is the founder of Sasana Moli, The International Burmese Monks Organization (IBMO), and one of the leaders of the peaceful "Saffron Revolution". This is a film about "Metta Sutta", the Buddhist prayer of loving-kindness and its power.
THE LONG VERSION OF THE FILM IS NOW IN PRODUCTION. LOOK AT TRAILER 4min.
